SWINE!!!!

Yep, it happened... Shawn got the swine flu. After feeling sick for about 3 days and calling in sick to work I scheduled an doctor's appointment for him with the result of SWINE flu! There are quite a few symptoms of the swine flu that the doctor will tell you about.

But there's one thing that I never expected. Shawn is feeling better but after a few days of having the swine flu he looked like this!

He's now looking a little more like himself and is feeling better but watch out for the swine flu! Since swine flu is ridiculously contagious I went to get my vaccine. To my delight there were no needles involved, two swift squirts up my nose and I'm safe.

To Bronco, with love

Once upon a time there were two teams which were arch enemies, they hated each other. Whenever the time came for them to get on the same field there was mayhem... except if you were wearing a marching band uniform of course! Well you guessed it! Shawn and I went to the BYU vs UTAH football game, it was quite intense there was a sea of blue with dots of red. Last play when Andrew George ran the ball into the end zone was phenomenal. We were screaming jumping up and down (I think I even saw Shawn shed a tear) and then everyone started rushing the field. For all of you who know Shawn, you know he loves sports and loves to be in the center of everything. So    guess what, he turns to me and says: LEAVE THE BLANKETS!!!! WE'RE RUSHING THE FIELD!!!!!

So what did we do?! We rushed the field!!!

Shawn even held a little piece of the field in his hand.... awhhhh isn't that sweet

So... after the game Max Hall was asked something about University of Utah and his response was not too nice. He said: "I don't like Utah. In fact, I hate them. I hate everything about them. I hate their program, their fans. I hate everything,....It felt really good to send those guys home." Upon hearing this Shawn and I were appalled. Our love for Max Hall which wasn't much to begin with was now gone. Max Hall is overrated, somehow he looks like a great quarterback by the great players (SIDE NOTE: Shawn just notified me I'm blogging about football, ha that's funny) ANYWAY!!!! Max Hall wouldn't be as well-known and hold the records he does if it wasn't for Unga, Pitta, Chambers, George... just to name a few. By Max Hall making those lovely comments it put a shadow over their victory.

AMEN

So when finding this t-shirt a U student is selling we find it humorous :)

Pumpkin Pride!!!

First things first, let it be known that this is Shawn making this post... Yes that's right the husband is making the post. Keep the jokes and mocking to yourselves.

So, this halloween we were really boring. I worked so we really couldn't go out and play with friends. On friday we did get together with the Morgan gang at Brett and Ashley's house, a good time was had. So on halloween (Laura pronounces it holloween) we decided to stay at home, pass out candy to the trick or treaters and carve pumpkins. Well, we only had two groups of trick or treaters, but we weren't too upset due to the candy excess we now enjoy.

As for the pumpkin carving, if any of you don't know me, I am super competitive. Anything I do has to be better than others. I have to win. So of course we couldn't share a pumpkin, we had to get our own pumpkins and have a competition. Laura is so good, she just goes along with it and takes the trash talk and is too nice to dish any back. We had a similar contest last Christmas concerning gingerbread houses. (I dominated in case you were wondering) Also another annoying trait I have is OCD. If I do something it has to be done well and it has to be done my way. So of course I go overboard with things like this. Also  one thing that many of you may know about me is my addiction to Duke Blue Devils Basketball. So of course I got my boys in blue involved. Laura tinkered on hers but didn't get way into it, she mainly just admired my dedication and took many pictures...

...and obsessing...

...working...

...and working...

Seeds!!! Laura seasoned and dried them and now we are enjoying them.

so by the time I got done it was really late and I was really tired and wasn't in the mood to take photos of the finished product til the next day, so in order to preserve it, I put it in the freezer. Of course Laura came in behind me and took a picture of it to document how much of a freak I am.

this is the piece of art I was trying to duplicate...

finished product.

This is Laura's finished product. (She is trying to win your hearts and your votes by being all family oriented. Don't fall for it, it's all a scam.)

Our pieces of art together. You may vote for the best pumpkin through your comments. (keep in consideration that Laura is an art major and I should have some sort of handicap... you know like in golf)

Laura sliced hers open with the intention to bake it and eat it like a squash. I've never heard of doing that. Is it good? I wouldn't let her get near mine with that knife. I'll probably put it back in the freezer to avoid rotting so it can be admired for years to come. Laura rolls her eyes and says differently.

Golfing with the Licktey's

So, we decided to go golfing yesterday (Shawn golfs I drive the golf cart) and I guess when there's too many people on the course they have you join with other people. Well, we got to golf with Sherry and Walter...

During the nine holes we made friends with these lovely people, and being nice really pays off because #1 Walter showed me all the places where I could find lost golf balls...thank you Walter! While everyone was golfing you could find me hunting around in the bushes and trees :) #2 Walter is on the ski patrol at Beaver Mountain for 60 years and they gave us two free passes. WOW what a steal of a deal!

Yoda and our Kids...

So... I came across a web site today and morphs pictures and the first thing that came to my mind was to morph my dad into Yoda. Because, after all ever since being a little girl I've heard people compare my dad to Yoda, maybe because he's short and bald, or maybe because he's pretty good at being wise and giving great advise.. either way here is the result:

After being able to see how effective morphing was, I came to the conclusion that I could possibly see what our offspring looks like... ha so if you're under the age of 18 you probably shouldn't look at the content below,  it could be found to be disturbing and extremely creepy.
Our little Hermaphrodite

Little Jay Walker... haha

and last but not least... our little Gabby (named after our favorite Desperate House Wife)
